Fort Collins’ favorite night of inspiring, fascinating and off-kilter presentations is here once again! That’s right, Ignite Fort Collins is back! Tomorrow will be Ignite #14 which marks over four years since the very first Ignite took place in May, 2009.
This installment should be bigger and better than ever. Especially, since the NoCo Home Team’s very own Dee Bundy will be behind the scenes coordinating all the logistics and stuff (like making sure that we don’t run out of beer or cocktails!)
If you haven’t heard of (or been to) Ignite Fort Collins, you are missing out on what could quite possibly be the most interesting series of quirky and fascinating mini-presentations ever created. Ignite talks (or ‘sparks’) can be on almost any topic, with only two basic rules:
- Each presentation must be made up of 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds (for those of you that aren’t very arithmetically-inclined, that means talks only last 5 minutes each–hence Ignite’s tagline: ‘Enlighten us, but make it quick!’)
- You can’t just get up there and try to sell us something (or pitch us in anyway).
Speakers are selected by a highly-secretive, but ostensibly democratic nomination and voting process. The whole thing features 14 total speakers and runs for 2 hours with a 30-minute intermission after the first hour.
Ignite #14 will take place on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Lincoln Center. The doors open at 6 PM and the show runs from 7-9 PM. You can still buy tickets for only $10 (and that includes one free beverage of the alcoholic or non-alcoholic type!) There will also be refreshments and a cash bar available.
Here’s the lineup for June 14th:
